    Hi,

A bunch of us at work are big fans of Capri Deli on Dundee just NW of Rand Road in Palatine. I've been kind of on the lookout for other deli-style resturants around the NW burbs, but as of yet I haven't found anything.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Cheers,
    Asten

    Asten,

Two suggestions for you (I lived in that area for 20 years):

    1. Berrutis on Buffalo Grove Road just north of Dundee Road on the east side of the street. It's similar to Capri, although Capri's foccacia sandwiches are better.

    2. Jewish deli called New York Bagel (I believe that's the name) on 83 just north of Lake Cook Road in Buffalo Grove- good sandwiches, bialys, soups, salads. Good selection. (It's in "The Grove" strip mall, the Jewel is there, too)

Used to go to the above places for lunch. Both have tables as well as carry out

There's a place called "Siegelman's Deli" on Algonquin in Rolling Meadows (near the Menards) which is supposed to be pretty good.

Also, similar to Capri (although not as good!) is the former Franco's, re-named as Mama's Cucina, which is on the north side of Golf Rd, right next to Yu's Mandarin.

I don't think there's a 'P' in the name, but yea, it's very good. Try the kreplach soup!
