oof...
nothing went right last nite @ Signature Room. we went for the view, and got a handful of nothing.
ie,
no view
non existent waitstaff
no water nor bread (granted, refills, but.. still)
i regret, and apologized to my companion for, not following everyone's advice of simply going to the 96th for drinks/view. this was possibly the worst overall dining experience we've had in this town. limp steak, overcooked shrimp, waiter not offering wine/cocktail menu, stupendously high traffic area table, 2 kids screaming + running up & down a handicap-accessible ramp next to our table, and a jaded career waiter who just didn't give a rats ass about us. we spoke to the matre'd and the service captain attempted to overcompensate, but it was much too late. and that bill... could've fed a small country...
the neighboring table, otoh, had a fabulous pre-degusting experience sitting literally 6" away from us. not sure how their food tasted, but by then, i was ready to jump off the 94th floor observatory...
how does this place stay in business??? (rherotical; i know the answer, and i'm ashamed)
