LTH,
Went to Wings Around the World yesterday with Steve Z and Mike Sula. Mike caught wind of the place, thought it sounded interesting, he was right.
Flavors popped, bright, clean, well thought out, we tried 11 of 34-flavors representing 9-countries each was distinctive with nice balance. Kamikaze, labeled hot, is loaded with habanero and packed an endorphin inducing punch, while Maple Twist, maple syrup laced with butter, evoked morning pancakes. Andre, manager and flavormeister, said he got the idea for Maple Twist while eating at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles.
Lemon Garlic was particularly good as was our side of Cheese Wedges, basically fried mac and cheese. French fries were crisp and the Banana Pudding, made by Tammy's Treats, was terrific.
Take out only, though they didn't mind us eating in the sparse, but comfortable, waiting area. There was a 15-minute wait as everything is made to order, though it speeded along as Wings is one of those places that generates good cheer amongst line mates, we chatted with 3-4 people trading tips and receiving menu suggestions.
The owner has a lot of confidence, deservedly so in my opinion, in his product as he's directly across the street from Popeye's and KFC, and within a block of Church's and a JJ Fish.
Enjoy,
Gary
