I've been trying to look for some spanish chorizo. I live and Joliet...and while I would like to stay as close to home as I can...I do drive up to Whole Foods (off 83) for my beef and seafood. So I don't mind a drive either.
thanks,

If you have a chance to do a little outing in the city, for example, on a Saturday near lunchtime, go to Café Iberico/Deliberico on Lasalle; have a nice meal and then buy some Spanish groceries, including fine cheeses and sausages at the deli counter in the back of the north-room. They have at least two regional varieties of Spanish chorizo normally in stock (though they are domestically produced -- in California) -- they're good and will serve the purpose well. They're cryo-vacked and store very well, so you can stock up.
There's also a Whole Food in the neighbourhood (Dearborn and Superior), so you could have a nice meal and do some good shopping without having to repark the car.

If you have lunch, I recommend the octopus highly.
