Went to Hagens a couple of weeks ago on Friday around 4:00. Needless to say it was very crowded but the line moved surprisingly fast. I ordered a couple of pounds of the Lake Perch breaded and ready for frying. Also got a qt. of the Clam Chowder which they gave to me cold as they knew I would be eating it later that evening.
We thought the Clam Chowder was very good.
It had been a long time since I have had fresh Lake Perch and it was excellent ( this is the extent to which I am able to describe food. As a result I don't post very often). I quickly fried the fillets in oil and 3 of us including my 78 year old mother-in-law polished them off along with a plate of potato pancakes.
Great store, great people and a great meal!
Also I go to Utopia Cigar Store at Montrose and Narragansett every couple of weeks and never nioticed Jay's. Only have one cigar left so I will be trying Jay's this week.
