I'll be staying downtown the evening before Father's Day (after my first trip to L20) and the kids will be joining us for Brunch. They are younger, so we are looking for a place that is relatively kid friendly. Not looking for a greasy spoon, rather a legit brunch that won't frown upon some youngins. Also, not looking to spend $50+ per person, as I'm sure L20 will give the Visa a beating.

On Lakeshore Drive. Looking for something nicer than Ed Debevics. A downtown version of Prairie Grass would be perfect.

I only speak for myself on this, but what has me a tad flummoxed by your request is the phrase "kid-friendly"
I think some more info to group about your kids and what they like food and enviroment-wise would probably be helpful.

    Such as....
Do you want the kids to be entertained? Atmosphere--Quiet or loud?
    How old are they?
Are they used to eating more adult items or do you need a kids menu?

Don't know how close you want to stay to the loop, but Yolk is just south of it on Michigan Ave. I've always found the breakfasts there really good and it's a big, fairly loud space so I consider that kid-friendly.

I've never had lunch so if you swing more to the lunch side of brunch I don't know how they'll deliver, but their eggs are perfect.
