I had a fine dinner at Shabu House earlier this week. The pajun was very good, though on the greasy side. The scallions and seafood (shrimp, squid, artificial crab) were nicely balanced. We ordered the beef & seafood shabu shabu. The beef was fine enough, but I thought the vegetables looked a little sad. Also, the set up of the tables made sharing shabu shabu hard. We sat at a table for two with two recesses for heating. We had the shabu shabu set up on my cousin's side of the table. I had to stand to reach the pot. The standout of our meal was the galbi, which was fantastic--the cut of the meat, the marinade, the done-ness and the garnish all were perfect.
The looped Hungry Hound segment on the big flat screen TV got annoying quickly, but otherwise the space at Shabu House is comfortable and the service pleasant.
