ChgoMike and I were bemoaning the fact that Evanston doesn't have a Chinese restaurant that can hold a candle to Sun Wah (and between the two of us, I think we figured that we'd tried them all).... Sun Wah may not be every-day close, but thank goodness the drive is relatively short when you're in need of a delicious duck fix!
I'm so glad I decided to ditch my work responsibilities for the day (I knew in advance that not much would get done AFTER a Sun Wah lunch) and join today's panel of judges! I got to try some delicous new (to me) dishes, including the octopus whiskers and garlic fried ribs, and marvel at how the Beijing duck just seems to get better every time I go. Great food, great crowd! I'll have to go along with the Russian judge: Perfect 10s from me all the way around!
