I'm shocked to have gone onto grubhub.com to order Lao Sze Chuan tonight, only to find out that the prices on grub hub are VERY inflated vs. eating in the restaurant.
I'm not here to bash grubhub or Lao Sze Chuan. I love Lao Sze Chuan. Also, I have not not noticed this problem on grubhub with other restaurants. I’m not speculating as to why or who is responsible for this price difference, I just wanted to make sure any first time Lao Sze chuan cusomers don't get the wrong impression on the affordability of the place. Keep in mind this isn’t because of delivery, since that is an additional $5 charge.
I looked at a few things on the menu at grubhub.com, Three Chili Chicken on grubhub was $14.25 instead of the usual $9.95 in the restaurant. The lamb with pure cumin was $16.95 instead of $11.95 and the pork stomach in garlic sauce was $7.25 instead of $4.50. This price hike is shockingly huge, so like I said I didn’t want anyone to make a mistake and order from grubhub when like me, the trip to Chinatown is more than worth the $50 difference in the bill!
Part of the secret of a success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside.
