I know there are a few posts about this place, but the s.o. and I were thinking about heading over there tonight to find something different for dinner-- can someone tell me if they have a food court, or if it's all grocery??

It is a hypermarket that is a full grocery, a number of retail kiosks, and an entire food court. I would use the search function on the shopping section as there have been over a 100+ posts on this subject.

The last time I was there, they hadn't opened the food court. I hope that's changed.

That's the Niles one. The Naperville one is much smaller and is limited to groceries. No food court, no retail kiosks there, unfortunately. At least, that was the case a couple of months ago. I didn't see anything that looked like construction for expansion for a food court.

I was just there today. I picked up some fresh maki rolls and some fruit. There was signs showing off the hot pots of food that started at $5.99 and up. I am not up on Korean food, so I will say the pictures looked good. In front of the Hot food court(which was very small) was a display table with the maki and other things to buy for lunch. A bit to the left was a refrigerated case that had more variety of pre-packaged items.

    check it out.

took a nice walk around Super H Mart today after lunch @ Raku. nice store, I dont think I have ever seen so many varities of kimchi in my life. Also good looking produce section.

The seafood an meat impressed me, live blue crabs $2.99/lb, head on shrimp $2.99/lb. Also unenhanced BB ribs $2.69/lb in cryo twin packs. Also a few different cuts of pork belly, beef short ribs, etc. really nice selection.

i just window shopped as I have plenty of ribs, and just ate crab and shrimp in the last couple days, but I will be back to this place.

Three of the five food places are now open and a bakery. There is Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and there will be a Filipino place not open yet. I tried the Korean place Kimchihana for lunch. The bulgogi lunch deal comes with two or three varieties of panchan. The korean omelette was excellent. The japchae was very addictive and I would order that again. The bulgogi was serviceable but not as tender or spicy as I would prefer. There was also some yam and kimchi. There was hot sauce and a really good red garlic paste which I used copiously. I also tried roasted corn tea and that was really nice on a cold day. I have tried making japchae and korean omelette at home and some things should just be enjoyed outside of the house. All in all, a good way to try a variety of items.

The Filipino stall Mabuhay is open at the Naperville H Mart food court. Picked up a menu, and they're offering quite a few dishes for a food court stall - lumpia, kare kare, dinuguan, three types of pancit, mami soup, etc. It's also worth mentioning, since Uncle Mike's Place is receiving a lot of attention, that they also offer breakfast plates, so suburb folks can also get longanisa, tocino, or tapas with egg and garlic fried rice. Nice!

After picking up some specialty items on the way home Friday @ the Naperille H-Mart(quail eggs, dark soy sauce, chinese broccoli, pork belly, yan yan.) I hit the food court for a snack.

    (5) stalls and a bakery - 1 pasta stall - ?, 1 Korean, 1 Chinese, 1 Japanese, and 1 Filipino

From the Filipino stand for my wife and daughter Pancit Canton, nice version, with 6 grilled shrimp. came with kutsinta - coconut jello thing. I alos ordered a single Turon -carmelized banana wrapped in a spring roll wrapper & deep fried. My wife is from the Phillipines, and she thought all items were right on, the older ladies working the stand were kicking out some traditional homestyle meals. I trust my wifes opinion on Filipino food more than anyone I know.

From the Korean stand I went with a beef bulgogi burrito. Not bad, meat was flavorfull, and pretty lean, easy to eat packaged in a burrito shell.

I see this food court becoming an almost weekly stop on Fridays when I need some items from H-mart

They have fresh pork belly?? Good to know. Wish I had your wife with me when I shop there. Love the food but I'm a novice. I haven't been in since they finished with the food stalls so I'll have to stop by.

Same for me, time to go back and re-explore those food stalls. I was not that impressed with the early editions, and have remained faithful to the food stalls in the Asian Market over on the east side of Naper Blvd, by Schmaltz. I feel sort of bad for them as I expect them to eventually be crushed by Super H, but they do continue on.

It's interesting to note the differences between the Naperville H-Mart and the Niles H-Mart.

Maybe it's just a matter of time, the Niles one has been open longer.

The Naperville food court is just getting going full speed. The stands are similar to what is at the Niles store. The "extra" stores around the "mall" at the Niles store are more extensive (and I can't get my fresh Walnut cakes in Naperville). I have had food from the stands at each one and they are very comparable in terms of quality, quantity, price, etc.

For the stores themselves, I find the produce section at Niles to be better stocked, with a slightly better selection. Similarly, the fish/seafood section is also better at Niles. Meat sections are about the same in terms of selection, etc. I did find a great buy at the Naperville store on Ox-Tails about a week ago. They were nice and fresh at I think about $2.99/lb. There was a big bin of them and you could fill a bag with what you wanted. I was at the Niles store yesterday morning, and the only Ox-tails they had were in a small tub and were not very fresh looking and were prices at $6.99/lb (they also had some Veal tails that looked intriguing, but I took a pass). There were some shrink wrapped ones also, but they also did not look great.

For the Pan-chan and Kimchi, both stock most of the same stuff. Pan-chan is hit or miss as to what they have in stock at any given moment.
