In all honesty, places like TGI Friday's are pretty much the antithesis of what LTH Forum is all about and such posts are almost guaranteed to be met with a certain amount of sarcasm and ridicule. It comes with the culture.
Without a doubt, steve.
What I believe we do here at LTHForum is "fight the good fight" for all things culinary, be they haute or hot dog (as you said, mss60614).
I firmly believe that places like TGI Friday's fall outside of that spectrum, and to that end, they will be met with my derision. I am not opposed to chains, as a rule, but they do start with a handicap in my book. I have eaten at all the chains mentioned here and I never hope to again. I'd be happy if they all closed and were replaced with something else.
I also firmly believe that places like TGI Fridays, in spite of the fact that many people think they make tasty food, damage our culinary culture, something I consider this forum a defender of. To that final point, my sarcasm was, as I see it, completely necessary.

Finally, no one restaurant, recipe, or chef is immune from ridicule or sarcasm on this forum. Whether it is a chain or a mom-n-pop store, if it sucks, people will say so. mss60614, remember that there is a difference between attacking a person and an opinion. For example,
Personal attack (uncalled for and not allowed on this forum):"You are an idiot for enjoying that food."
Criticism of opinion (fair game, and what makes this forum work):"I think the food that you love sucks".
All the best,
Michael
