Has anyone seen fresh cranberries at stores not during Thanksgiving/Xmas holiday season? I have a cranberry clafoutis recipe that I'd love to make once a month if I could get fresh cranberries. Otherwise in the past I've used frozen peaches successfully. I think I tried frozen cranberries before and was unimpressed, but if anyone has seen those around I might give them a try again. I'm on the far NW side of Chicago near Niles and Park Ridge.

The recipe is in John Thorne's Outlaw Cook if anyone has that. The essay with it was charming. Here is the recipe online:

I suspect, like apples, cranberries can remain in cold storage for a looooong time. There must be some fresh ones somewhere around.
