Went last night. Decent sushi. Seemed a little pricey for being in Elmwood Park next to New Star, across the street from a Dominicks, but whatever. I grew up in these parts, and I'll never be able to see anything here as "fancy" totally MY fault. I can't really say anything stood out as stellar, but I can say that the cucumber salad was horrid. Vinegary to the point of well, just wrong. The three of us at the table all agreed. Inedible. I was the only one who took more than one chopstickfull just to make sure my tongue wasn't playing games with me. The dressing was overwhelmed with vinegar to the point of like astringency where the vinegar wafts up into your sinuses. Yeah - flat out wrong. We ordered the chef's choice sushi tsuname at 23.00, and all the standards for nigiri (no hikkigai or saba on the menu which was kinda dissapointing, but whatevs) and nothing was disappointing except for the namasake which was a little on the older side of nicely fresh - not BAD though. We also had a fashion roll for a fallback for a first time sushi eater at the table, and a spicy tuna roll. The fashion roll was one with fried something or other and unagi sauce. Everything else was fairly decent. Also tried their tempura of mixed fish and veggies which was fair to middlin'. No need for fried zucchini or yellow squash in tempura if you're gonna slice it really thin. Makes the insides (squash's seeds) really mushy, and bordeline slimy. Outside of that, everyone really liked it. Definitely be back with coupon in hand. Sushi was fairly decent here, and a decent price with the coupon.
