The other shopping center where Bennigans was is Glenview.

I called their number and the recording says they're closed from Memorial Day thru June 2...
Anyone got the scoop?
It sounds like you do. Check back on June 2 and let us know how it goes.

Further west on Golf (in Mt. Prospect, I believe) a branch of Las Islas Marias is opening (maybe already open?).

It's not open yet. We live within walking distance and have been waiting for what seems an eternity for this to open. There doesn't ever seem to be much action in the storefront.

Well at least mom won't be commenting on the empty corner.

Kickass! I have a punchcard from them. Free latte, here I come!
I am not sure what this means exactly, but interestingly, I was driving past East of Edens, and noticed they were putting up yellow Vienna Beef awnings that said Harry's Hotdogs. At first I thought maybe Harry's bought East of Edens (would have been a step up), but a few days later I saw that the name had been removed from the awning. I guess it was just Vienna recycling promotional materials (or do the restaurants have to pay for the Vienna awnings?).Willkat98 wrote:I wonder since the Developer rode off Harry from the back end of this parcel, if there will be hot dogs on the menu.

No additional information anywhere, but it might be a safe to assume business expense account type place (= Sidebar = Midtown Grill = 1N = Townhouse, etc)

Yup! My Bride read about it in the local Wednesday Journal. No comment as to why.
I visited a few times and the owner seemed to have somewhat of an attitude. Not very friendly.
I had noticed, a year or so ago, that they were moving into the food arena (not tried it) and they might of been better off keeping it simple.
The location should of been able to do well as it is the only coffee shop (other than Taste of Brazil) near the popular Oak Park stop of the Blue Line. The few times I visited was when I did not have my trusty mug-o-joe from home heading to the EL or maybe a Sunday morning pastry and coffee for My Bride.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda.
