One North is primarily a business lunch place which also does a good dinner business before operas. The bar is regularly packed and loud on Friday evenings with no sound barrier between bar area and dining area. Therefore, we try not to eat at One North before our regular Friday evening opera seats except if we are dealing with the Friday after Thanksgiving. On the other hand, it is a great change of pace from Lloyd's if we have exchanged tickets for a week night. Also worth noting is that One North is open on Saturdays only during the opera season for pre-opera dining.
It is in the Restaurants America group but is not a clone of any of their other restaurants. The food has been quite decent but nothing spectacular. Entrees are mostly in the
twenties, so the coupon deal is a good value. They had quite a few bottles of wine priced in the thirties a few months ago. At their regular prices I do not see much reason to go there unless you need a business-type or pre-opera restaurant in that neighborhood.
