The restaurant in the Bass Pro Shops is called the Islamorada Fish Company. The one I went to was in Bolingbrook, near the new Promenade.
It was pretty good. I guess it's a chain, although I believe it only has locations in Bass Pro Shops across the country.
It was good enough that I have wanted to go back. Here's the rub in that. I believe they change their menu fairly often. For example, the time we went, we had the following: Conch Fritters. Steamed Shrimp in Old Bay (tasted just as good as the pier bars in the keys). Grouper Portifino, which was grouper with a lobster sauce. It was very tasty. I can't remember what my wife had, but I remember she liked it.
Every time we say we want to go back, I check the online menu. None of the things I mentioned above are on the menu anymore. Strange because the Grouper Portofino was touted as their signature dish. In fact, last I checked, they didn't even have any grouper on the menu.
Maybe it's a seasonal menu that changes, but I don't know for certain. Based on what we had the one time, I would make a return trip if I was going to be in the area and needed a place to eat.
