I can't believe you two haven't met already. This Oak Parker is also hoping to be there but am awaiting the scheduling of a dress rehearsal for a concert the next day before I pay up.

Sun Wah prefers banquet service, which consider family style. They feel with buffet, it is hard to keep track who received what.

Khaopaat - I find if I have even one guest, the bad family behavior goes completely away. Everyone likes to look good in front of strangers. Or at least it works like a charm with my family.

I'm in Michigan, taking care of my mom after her spinal surgery, and I'm using a computer at the local library for Internet access. With the "guest" sign on, I don't get to do much in the way of online transactions -- so can I sign up anyway and just pay as soon as I get home? (I should be home at the end of next week.) If not, I'll understand, but I'd love to be able to attend if you have room and can wait a week or so for the money.

You can definitely sign up when you get home. We have a lot of capacity here.

It pains me greatly to miss the party and all of my LTH friends, but I won't be in Chicago till the following week. Have a wonderful time!

I assume with all us LTH'ers, and being Saturday night, the parking will be nightmarish. Isn't the Red Line near there, guys, or am I mistaken?

Red Line Argyle Stop is pretty close.

It's about a 2 block walk from the Red line stop. Closer than the 1/2 block it was before they moved, but still incredibly close. When you exit the Argyle stop, make a right, walk to Broadway, make another right, it'll be 1/2 block up on the right.

The 36/Broadway bus also stops within a few yards of Sun Wah.

On the night of the most recent LTH gathering at the new Sun Wah location (11/7), the Aon parking garage just north of Sun Wah was open for public parking. The only catch: The price was $20. Several of us commented on how ludicrous that seemed, given the neighborhood and the length of time you'd be parking there.

If I remember correctly, GWiv told me that he had asked Kelly about the possibility of Sun Wah working out some kind of reduced parking fee for SW customers using the Aon garage, but Kelly said that the Aon people had said no to the idea.

So that may be an additional parking option, if you want to spend another $20....

let me cure you guys of your parking problems (possibly)...the lot owned by the insurance company at the corner of winona and broadway is almost always open and usually not full on saturday nights. unless they have an event that night, i don't think it would be a problem for you to park in there. caveat: they have limited number of spaces (50ish, i believe) also, please don't park there during the day when you come at other times. they leave their lot open as a courtesy to the community and it's first come first serve, but when it's working hours, it's for their employees. we'd like to stay in their good graces as the rest of the argyle community needs to use their lot too. see you all soon!

Two things - The 36 Lawrence Bus also stops at Lawrence and Broadway which which is about 4 blocks south. This bus originates out of the Jefferson Park Station which also connects to the Metra - Union Pacfic NW train.

Personally, I have never had problems with parking in that neighborhood at night. Usually, is is readily available 1-2 blocks south on Broadway from Argyle.

We've only just moved to the area, and are still getting horribly lost every other day... but I knew Aaron Deacon in KC, and met Ronnie and his family at the eGullet gathering recently, and knew that the LTH forum would be a wonderful resource. It's been a little overwhelming, trying to sift through all the delights and discoveries awaiting us... but also a lot of fun. We're very much looking forward to putting names to faces at this feast!

Will there be nametags? That would help me a LOT...
