Not for financial reasons, mind you, but because I just had back surgery 4 days ago and while I definitely want to attend, and believe I will be able to attend, I'm not paying a non-refundable ticket fee until I'm a bit further along in recuperation and 100% certain there will be no issues preventing me from going, and staying long enough to enjoy the evening![]()
Still, I'm already up to taking a 6 block walk earlier today, and expect things to be completely fine by the 5th, so please do at least hold a couple of spots for us for now.
Hey man, we have room for you -- capacity at 200+.
Hope you can make it -- and it sounds like if you're at 6 blocks, you'll be in good shape on 12/5.
Looking forward to meeting you (I'm guessing we share an alma mater),
Hammond

For the party, we're going to have a screened off area at the back...unless we get 200 or more people who sign up for the party, in which case Kelly might give us the whole place.

Another logistical question: Will dinner be buffet-style (as at Chuck's last year), or will the various dishes be delivered to each table (as usual at Sun Wah)?

With the "guest" sign on, I don't get to do much in the way of online transactions -- so can I sign up anyway and just pay as soon as I get home? (I should be home at the end of next week.) If not, I'll understand, but I'd love to be able to attend if you have room and can wait a week or so for the money.

Personally, I have never had problems with parking in that neighborhood at night. Usually, is is readily available 1-2 blocks south on Broadway from Argyle.

We'll need... someone to fill the "sigh...I don't know when I'll ever get to be a grandmother" position...

I think the Lawrence bus is route #81.

We've only just moved to the area, and are still getting horribly lost every other day... but I knew Aaron Deacon in KC, and met Ronnie and his family at the eGullet gathering recently, and knew that the LTH forum would be a wonderful resource. It's been a little overwhelming, trying to sift through all the delights and discoveries awaiting us... but also a lot of fun. We're very much looking forward to putting names to faces at this feast!
Will there be nametags? That would help me a LOT...

There usually are, as Cathy handles the details adeptly.
Very glad you guys are going to attend.

Contribute chow to Food Pantry. Vital Information and Condiment Queen will be collecting food pantry donations. VI may post downstream with details, but from past experience I know that it's always appreciated when people donate paper products (paper towels, diapers), cooking oil and canned goods.
There has been no finer advice than this EVER! I use this method every chance I can get.Khaopaat - I find if I have even one guest, the bad family behavior goes completely away. Everyone likes to look good in front of strangers. Or at least it works like a charm with my family.
