We bought ourselves a new set of Vollrath aluminum pans...actually, Northwestern Cutlery only had the 8" and 10" in stock, and told us to come back in a week for the 12" after the new shipment comes in.

Oh, and a bottle of Balvenie 15 Single Barrel scotch :)

A titanium spatula just like Spongebob uses. My eight year old son decided that's what I should have for Xmas so he sent my husband out to find it. It's really a Rosle Hook Pancake Slicer, but looks enough like the one in the cartoon that my son is convinced. Very sweet.

I got a Side Swipe blade for my Kitchen Aid and a copy of Pepín's "More Fast Food My Way".

    Looking forward to trying both.

My sister gave me a Slap Chop for some reason but I've already had a Zyliss version for about 12 years and I don't use that, either. She of course did not save the receipt.

I got one of these a couple years ago. Some of the little silicone nubs broke off within a very short time and we had to fish them out of some cookie dough. Stopped using it after that.

A digital scale, a lovely new terrine, a glazed ceramic tagine, THREE - count 'em, three! - slow cookers, a laser thermometer, and a new stove-top espresso maker. Llama got a home coffee roaster that we will most definitely be trying out soon, a deli slicer, and let's not forget the electric smoker! It was a good cooking-related Christmas.

Just arrived - my KitchenAid slicer/shredder attachment, which I used to make goykies (latkies with leftover ham ground into the mix) The fine shredder shreds the same as the fine side of a box grater; excellent for potato latkies. Jury is still out as to whether or not I can toss my Cuisinart, which is why I wanted it in the first place.

I also got a steamer and a latching-lid slow cooker that I'd forgotten to mention.

I did too - except it's old as the hills. My Mom sent me her old metal one, as she does not use it anymore. After my wife painstakingly scrubbed some small rust spots off his weekend, I made my first batch of applesauce for my boys. I'm going to love this contraption.

I also got a 13" Calphalon French Skillet from my in-laws. I'm going to have to start working our some more because emptying this pan of a couple pounds of browned ground sausage is more of a feat than I thought.

Received a handheld hard cheese grater like Olive Garden uses, as well as a knife sharpener which is long overdue.

Last Christmas, I got a book called Culinaria Italy, Pasta-Pesto-Passion, by Claudia Piras & Ruprecht Stempell. I mention it because I am still not done reading it. I am reading slowly, savoring each page. It has each region of Italy in a separate chapter with the traditions, food, wines, recipes, shopping places, and much more, represented by great writing and even better photos. There are, I believe, a couple more books in this series, one on Spain, and maybe France. If you like Italy & its food history, DO NOT MISS THIS BOOK!
