Looking for some good Polish food In UV area. Used to go to Sak's on Chicago but that has been replaced. I know of Podhalanka, but is that the best? Seeing that there are a couple of places on Western. Looking for good potato pancakes and kielbasa.

    Any help?

Sure, Great Neighborhood Restaurant (GNR) Podhalanka should fit the bill:

I love Podhalanka. It reminds me of my grandma's home cooking. This thread reminds me that a visit is due!

Andrzej Grill just south of Cortez on Western. It has been posted elsewhere on the board. Not quite the same since Andrzej removed the Cherrymaster in some misbegotten effort to class the joint up. But the flaczki (tripe stew) is still damn fine.

Ugh. Apparently, my reading comprehension needs work as I only just now noticed Podhalanka was mentioned in the OP. I do think it's the best in the area, but Andrzej Grill is also excellent and worth comparing it to.

Yesterday, eight of my friends had dinner at Podhalanka. Except for soups, few of us had had many Polish entrees previously. Wow. What a treat: soups (especially mushroom), blintzes, pork tenderloin, stuffed cabbage-all were excellent. The owner, Greg, was super nice and gracious. We were having a bookclub (reading a wonderful book by local author Brigid Pasulka- a Long, Long Time Ago) there because the book takes place in Poland. Keep this place in mind!!!!

The whole bill for 8 of us-less than $100- BYOB....
