Culver’s is slated to open a new restaurant location at 7050 N. Mannheim Road in Rosemont in April.
It's the former Krispy Kreme location.

It was so sudden that they didn't even get to stop their deliveries. I read that in the Pioneer paper, but I can't find a link online.

(It was the end of March, but that thread was already closed, so I'm posting it here.)
It sounds like it was very sudden... don't know if the catering will continue in some form or not. The web site has an ad that was good through 3/17/10, so it must have been a very fast decision.
I'm really sad I didn't get in there before it shut down.

I remember going there as a kid and loved the corned beef samples. Sad to know it's gone.

It seems the space required much more extensive renovations than expected. Or at least more extensive than expected by people who haven't spent a lot of time in that building in years past
Va Pensiero Restaurant and Catering is now closed. Thank you to everyone who supported us these past 21 years. We cannot express how much it means to us to know you were all part of the Va Pensiero family. Jeff and I poured our hearts and souls into making Va Pensiero a fabulous dining experience; a welcoming place for you to spend your special occasions; and a home away from home. In return, you shared with us with your celebrations, your stories, and your lives. Thank you, thank you!
We are most grateful to our dedicated staff who have been so instrumental in creating these exceptional experiences for you, and in earning us recognition over our many years. It breaks our hearts to part with all of you. We wish you all the very best life has to bring.
Grazie!
Jeff and Maureen Muldrow
Very sad news, indeed, not to mention an unpleasant surprise.

It looks like they split Lucky Vito's in half, the back half is still open for pizza takeout and the front half is now higher end Italian.

I hate to prejudge (OK, I love to prejudge), but the PRICES on that menu! Good lord, they have an $18 bowl of soup. What's with the downtown prices? There goes the neighborhood.

Yeah, it's less than a minute walk from my front door, but don't expect a review from me anytime soon.

Although I never used it, I'll miss the giant pickle barrel. They also had some unusual stuff there that other stores didn't carry.
