    Hello!

Looking for a restaurant in the Highland Park vicinity that could work for our rehearsal dinner in October. We'd need a private room that could accommodate 50 people. Pretty ambivalent about the kind of food, but probably something Italian or American would be the most accommodating to our variety of guest tastes. Any ideas would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

We had our rehearsal dinner at Bluegrass. The menu, the food, and the service were all great.

We did a night before Bar Mitzvah dinner at Tuscany in Wheeling (dundee and Milwaukee) that was fabulous.
Great food, accomodating staff, and just a short drive from HP.

We also did another large 40ish family dinner at Lovells of Lk Forest that was very elegant.
The were wonderful to work with, and kept within our budget.
Don't be thrown off by the prices printed on their website, they do have some flexibility, and the space is gorgeous, especiallly if your groom or the men are Space nuts, they will love it-

Maybe a little farther than you want to travel, but Buca di Beppo in Wheeling did a nice job for my bridal shower and Biaggi's in Deer Park is good. Less cartoon-ish than Buca's.

DiPescara in Northbrook Court does a very nice job. I've used them for a bridal shower.

This may not work for the OP because their private room is, I believe, a bit smaller than is needed in this case but Prairie Grass Cafe has a very nice private room and does an excellent job with private parties, many of which I've hosted there. It may be worth a call over there because they recently rennovated the room and may have expanded its capacity.

Don't use the Studio in Morton Grove, they screwed up my rehearsal dinner. They told us a week before that they didnt have the reservation we made, and we had to scramble.

Of course, that was nearly 30 years ago, and The Studio is long gone, but I still hear about it.
