I just picked up a few of Rick Bayless' cookbooks and have started watching his program. For those already cooking his recipes, can you reccomend a good place to pick up chiles, Queso Anejo, chorizo, Mexican spices, etc...?

I went by my friendly Mexican market in Pilsen the other day and it was hit and miss on some of the items I needed.

Anyone have any sources for everything Rick??? Online or in person is welcome.

I live near O'Hare. Local markets preferred if possible.

    Hi,

I also believe he goes to Maxwell Street market or at least he does when there is a televison crew. A lot of Mexican chilis and spices can be found there, plus you can taste their food.

La Casa Del Pueblo on Blue Island is also in Rick's rotation, but Jimenez (esp that one in Wheeling) and Tony's dwarf LCDP.
Tony's site says a Niles location is opening soon, but the one one Mannheim is pretty close to O'hare. Looks to be a decent size too.
