Robert Nava of Depot American Diner is the executive chef of Olive or Twist: The Restaurant (OoTtR - a lot less letters). The restaurant opened on Jan 7. They're calling the food Seasonal American cuisine. The food is delicious.
I've had thus far (apps first):
Potato wrapped Prawns: shoestring potatoes wrapped around prawns, lightly fried. The prawns sit on spinach and artichokes in a mustard butter sauce.
Jerk chicken wings: tender with a bit of spice.
Heirloom tomato flatbread: good, could be a small meal for someone not too hungry.
Tenderloin sliders (3): I haven't had these but my boyfriend swears by them. They have caramelized onions, pesto, and garlic.
Shrimp bisque soup: very good, but needs a bit more pepper.
Entrees:
Chicken Caesar salad: I've just started eating chicken again and I can't get enough of this salad. Large chunks of chicken, shaved parm, large housemade croutons, great housemade dressing. Large salad, easily shareable or for leftovers.
Monte Cristo: real turkey, ham, Swiss cheese on French toast with strawberry sauce. I love this sandwich.
Grilled Tuna Steak: with black Forbidden rice and pineapple salsa. Lovely.
From what I've seen, Nava does a great pork chop, lamp chop and steaks as well. There is roast turkey, chicken and pasta dishes as well.
Dessert:
White chocolate bread pudding: I'm not a bread pudding fan, but good god, this is delicious.
Chocolate mousse parfait: with fire sauce, which is raspberry with some spice.
There are other desserts, but these two are my favorites.
