Robert Nava of Depot American Diner is the executive chef of Olive or Twist: The Restaurant (OoTtR - a lot less letters). The restaurant opened on Jan 7. They're calling the food Seasonal American cuisine. The food is delicious.

I've had thus far (apps first):
Potato wrapped Prawns: shoestring potatoes wrapped around prawns, lightly fried. The prawns sit on spinach and artichokes in a mustard butter sauce.
Jerk chicken wings: tender with a bit of spice.
Heirloom tomato flatbread: good, could be a small meal for someone not too hungry.
Tenderloin sliders (3): I haven't had these but my boyfriend swears by them. They have caramelized onions, pesto, and garlic.
Shrimp bisque soup: very good, but needs a bit more pepper.

    Entrees:
Chicken Caesar salad: I've just started eating chicken again and I can't get enough of this salad. Large chunks of chicken, shaved parm, large housemade croutons, great housemade dressing. Large salad, easily shareable or for leftovers.
Monte Cristo: real turkey, ham, Swiss cheese on French toast with strawberry sauce. I love this sandwich.
Grilled Tuna Steak: with black Forbidden rice and pineapple salsa. Lovely.

From what I've seen, Nava does a great pork chop, lamp chop and steaks as well. There is roast turkey, chicken and pasta dishes as well.

    Dessert:
White chocolate bread pudding: I'm not a bread pudding fan, but good god, this is delicious.
Chocolate mousse parfait: with fire sauce, which is raspberry with some spice.
There are other desserts, but these two are my favorites.

Over on berwyntalk.com, in the Olive or Twist thread, Cozynite wrote: Cozynite here. Thanks, Bon, for the shout out.

You can order juice. The bar has it. Trust me. Also, you can order a Manhattan, Old Fashioned, etc. The (we) bartenders know how to make them. The waitstaff is good, but, since they haven't been around for the past 7 years that the bar has been open, they don't know the drink menu like our regulars. For example, Bonster ordering a chocolate cream soda... the waitstaff won't know what that is, but I will.

    Man, you're good.

I was too focused on a "seasonal" menu serving "heirloom tomatoes" in Jan.

First post shadiness and dubious seasonality aside, I'm a big fan of Robert Nava's food at the Depot, so I think this just shot to the top of my list for Saturday night dinner possibilities.

Thank you to Rene for revealing that seebee has been holding out on us for 2 weeks or so now

Not holding out. Haven't been yet.

I have been dying to get over there. Time is at a premium these days. Might be for the better - hopefully some kinks can get worked out before I go. Soon...Real soon.

The post wasn't supposed to be shady. If it was, I would have used a different user name. We need a restaurant like this in Berwyn and I think everyone should try it (and like it). Getting the word out about it is pretty important and what better way than LTH?

We went last night for the third time. We started with a rib appetizer and tenderloin sliders. Both were awesome (my wife's quote). I had the bone-in rib eye and my wife and her friend each had the pork chops. The steak was tender, done as I ordered, and came with real garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus...very nice. The ladies had the chops, one of them had the potatoes the other cheese grits. My wife commented that the chop was done right and had a smoky, well seasoned taste. Robert has done a great job with this place, well worth a trip to Berwyn.

    Advertising? But that costs money.
