There are more than a dozen posts in these forums about the excellent, sustainably farmed shrimp from Belize that have been all over the menus of fine restaurants and shops around town. I was saddened to learn yesterday - as I was attempting to purchase the fantastic shrimp salad that City Provisions used to make - that the owner of the shrimp farming company died in a plane crash last year. As of this January, the company has made the decision to stop production, and the shrimp will not be available for the foreseeable future. :(

FWIW, Nana in Bridgeport is still serving Laughing Bird shrimp (in a po boy with oyster and maybe in another dish). I tried to inquire about supply during dinner tonight, but they were slammed, and I didn't get an answer.

Purple Pig still has it too. Told me that they are just going through the supply until it runs out, and then they'll switch to something else.
