How about a fresh fruit cobbler or fruit slices? Pecan and cinnamon rolls are tasty too.
What disease did cured ham actually have?

I wonder if cinnamon rolls would be decent if I'm baking them the day before. Maybe I could proof them in the fridge overnight and bake them off that morning...hmmm...

Cooked unfrosted cinnamon rolls freeze well. Just bring them to work, heat up your icing and ice them when you're about to present.

This seems way too complicated. I'd probably skip chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin because they are so common, but just make something that you like and be done with it. There is no cookie that will please absolutely everyone, so you can't even try.

Since the co-worker went above and beyond, the first thing is to send a note to his or her boss/manager with a strong thank you. This really pays at review time.

And to make the personal thank you easier, just ask if they have any allergies, likes or dislikes. Why stress this out?

This was the manager, but I suppose I can give a heads-up to one of he heads of the company.

'Cuz if I ask, that ruins the surprise, and could be met with an "oh you don't have to do that, it's my job". Then I just feel like I'm pushing it on them.

Anyway, I like the muffin/shortbread/possibly brownie idea, so I'll make a nice little basket this weekend.

Quite enjoying this thread. I was going to nominate this for a banner quote:
If someone gave me oatmeal anything cookies as a thank you, I would not feel thanked.

    until I saw this:
Whatever your heart's desire, bacon, liquor, lemon bars, it's all good.

    So I nominate both!

I don't eat them frequently, but aren't raisins a"nature's candy". I actually like them in a soft and spiced oatmeal raisin cookie.

I too am down with raisins. I'll eat the little bastards right out of the box.

How was it for you antiraisinites at Halloween? I remember getting those tiny little boxes once in a while.
