While some places do have a sweet sauce, I would say most don't. Just keep trying places that we mention, and if you need to ask about the sauce, we'll let you know. D'ags is really sweet. You probably picked the sweetest sauce in the city by going there. Another place you will want to avoid is Aurelio's, a local chain primarily in the south suburbs that also has a sweet sauce. I happen to like both places for a change of pace, but I can eat pizza for days on end.
If you are in the city and you want a classic thin crust Chicago pizzeria, my choice for you is GNR winner Marie's Pizza on Lawrence. Get the thin crust, ask for it crispy (if you like that), and have a good time. If you are closer to the south side, go for Vito and Nick's.
