Glorious day. The weather was perfect. As always, the people were wonderful and the food was amazing.
I can't remember everything I ate, and I know I missed about half of what was on offer, because humans fill up so fast with only one stomach, but among the things that stand out in my memory are Ronnie-Suburban's cured-meat rollups, boudreauliscious's amazing noddles (both varieties), the papas bravas with chorizo sauce (took some home, and it seems even better today, though maybe that's because I'm not so full), the pastrami reubens, the cucumber and onions in sour cream (still eating that), the fabulous raw-milk cheese, Cahty2's heirloom tomato salad, and just about everything smoked (a fair number of really wonderful sausages and salamis).
As for sweets -- I'm not really a sugar person, so I didn't eat many of those, but the two things that attracted me were both astonishingly good, and those were JustJoan's brown sugar cookies with salt and the salted nut bars (JoelF, I think)
I loved the corn-on-the-cob that Cathy2 brought and I finally got to try Baylor melons. I also enjoyed the Sangria, and it was fun to taste Ronnie's lemoncello, having never had it before. And the lion from nr706 -- it's a hoot to know there will be game to sample every year (though the sauce and polenta base were tastier than the lion itself, the chief virtue of the lion being that it was lion).
Thanks most especially to Cathy2, but also to Michele and Mary for all the work. And thanks to everyone who brought food, pitched in to set up or clean up, and who offered such pleasant company.
I'm sure that as thanks and photos are posted, a lot of things will show up that will trigger, "Oh, yeah -- that too" thoughts. But the above were the most memorable.
Truly, a perfect day.
