Sorry, no photos as some person in France who found my camera is probably looking at the sim card and wondering why there are so many pictures of food, but to reiterate what the other posters said about the generosity and spirit of this event. I'm continually amazed at the warm and wonderful community that shows up to share their food and conversation with others. I see some people on this board on a regular basis, but others I only see at events like this, plus I love meeting people who's posts I've read, enjoyed and even disagreed with, over the past year. Thank you Cathy2, Michelle and Mary and everyone else for all the hard work you put in.

Foodwise it was another cornucopia, there was so much that I only got to try a fraction. Some highlights for me in no particular order were. Mike G's riff on rib tips complete with a small pice of white bread underneath, the Asian spicing was inspired. Kennyz'z ricotta-mint stuffed paccheri with roasted tomato sauce. The sauce was amazing, please post the recipe in the other thread Kenny. Laikom, I followed your poor friend Alex around looking for more of that amazing pastrami, tell him I'm really not a stalker. Dansch's bruleed melon with Benton ham had me googling their web-site to see how fast I could get a ham. Boudreaulicious's Yum Woon Sen, French Baguette's duck sausage Banh Mi, jazzfood's salsa crudo, thaiobsessed's Naem Khao Thawt, Trixie Pea/PIGMON's thai pizza and pairs4life's homemade bread and preserves were among the highlights for me. Gleam, I loved your pineapple vodka and I don't usually like sweet. Amata's Migliaccio Dolce Di Semolino, Hellodali's CocoCola cake with broiled peanut butter frosting, Cynthia's shortbread, and chouxfly's Neapolitan marshmallows were memorable dessert tastes.

Hopefully more pictures will follow, now let's start planning next year.

LOL! Sorry, no pics from me. :D

I decided to leave the camera packed up and focus on eating, drinking and socializing. There were at least a few folks snapping pics, though, so hopefully, some more images will find their way to the thread soon.

A big thanks to Cathy, Mary and Michele for all the work they put into another great picnic. They also did a great job with the weather! Thanks also, to everyone who contributed with the amazing food and beverages they brought. I think that food-wise, this was the best picnic so far. It was great to spend a glorious afternoon eating, drinking and chatting with so many friends, both old and new. A half-million smarmy thoughts come to mind but I'll keep them to myself. Suffice it to say that I love LTH, and our annual picnic highlights some of the very best aspects of our community. I'm already looking forward to next year's edition.

I realized this morning, I forgot to post big "THANK YOUs" to the organizers (not to mention contributors) of the picnic. The food was tremendous, the company even better. I loved seeing the enthusiasm of the youngest LTHers--there were lots of adventurous kids enjoying, not just the pinata contents, but the array of unusual foods and desserts. It's nice to see an outstanding new generation of LTHers.

Thanks to everyone who helped put this together - I had just as great a time as I expected! I didn't get to try nearly as many things as I would have liked (next year I'm determined to get away from the grill more) but some of the things that really stood out to me were RAB + REB's Cured Porchetta, Jazzfood's Salsa Crudo, Laikom's Mahi Mahi, KennyZ's Ricotta-mint stuffed paccheri, and CrazyC's Moo Ping.

I took a few photos (not nearly enough) that I've posted here.

Sorry for taking so long to post, a crazy work schedule and crappy AT&T service at home has been keeping me offline for awhile.
