This is a great and somewhat misunderstood restaurant. The thing here is the soups/stews, the panchan and the pajeon. I also think the fried mandu and kimchi-tofu-pork dish are very repsectable. I'd advise against wasting your calories, capacity or money on bbq, grilled meats or other, similar items. Also, this is not necessarily a great restaurant to share dishes. Yes, share a few of the aforementioned appetizers but IMO, the best approach is for each person to order their own soup or stew and forego the main courses that one might typically share, as they're not Cho Jung's strong suit. I really love the Spicy Pollack Fish Roe Stew and the Soondubu, both of which I order "spicy."
Again, I really hope to make it to this lunch. It's just a few minutes from my office in Niles, so it's looking favorable.
