You were counted a long time ago (at least according to the wall in the entrance). I have never done H1 for lunch , but if you bothered to post using such superlative terms , it must have been especially good. I usually stop at Honey 1 to pick up dinner when I am returning home from a client in the area. It has been OK+ to pretty good (but never Uncle John's good). Maybe I should try stopping on the way to the client instead. I am headed that way tomorrow around that time. Does the same schedule apply on Saturday? Usually the owner of the business springs for lunch on weekends, maybe tomorrow I will surprise them with a slab or two. Beware of geeks bearing gifts.G Wiv wrote:Noon plus thirty BBQ was fresh off the Aquarium smoker and absofuckinglutely glorious. It is refreshing not to have to use the phrase "liked in context" when talking commercial BBQ in Chicago.
Honey 1, count me a fan!
Typical, though not always, weekly schedule is Friday and Sunday Robert Adams at Honey 1 cooks twice, so noon and 5:30pm are peak times. Saturday he cooks all through the day, so anytime.d4v3 wrote:Does the same schedule apply on Saturday?

You forgot gizzards.
So, I thought I'd just throw this out there for you. Honey One is a more or less of what I'd call a CHICAGO STYLE bbq joint. You want tips and links, sauce on the side. Anything else that you get that is noteworthy is essentially a bonus. Spares might be ok, but tips and links are generally the stars of this style, (imo, of course.) They have a counter you order at, and a doorway that leads to a dine-in are with ten(ish) tables, a men's and women's bathroom (complete with sink, toilet, handsoap, paper towels, and a garbage can,) and a tv. They will bring your order out to you on a tray with a few napkins and a plastic fork or two. You will eat it, clean up, and then leave. It sounds like you might be thinking Honey One might be something more than a Chicago Style q joint. It is not. Well, actually it kind of is - they have tables and a tv.

I'd say Mr Pie is a lucky guy.
(There's also a Las Asadas in striking distance if you care about that sorta thing.)
Good luck if you go!
