It was time to pull out from the freezer some of the blueberries I picked out in Indiana last summer. Found some nice Meyer lemons at WF. The recipe called for a lemon glaze, but I topped it with just some streusel instead and it was JUST FINE and it sure is nice to have a taste of sweet, warm blueberries in January...

That was EXACTLY what I was going to say! I am off gluten for now and I should have known better than to read this thread!

Whenever you'd care to sell one of these, use the pm feature. I have my own stash of wild bluberries that I would be willing to part with if your supply isn't ample enough. You're killing me (too) but I won't go down without a fight. Tho I have a feeling that if you WERE to sell me one of these, my better half would be requesting one on a weekly basis.
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

Y'all are so nice. Baking on the weekends (in winter, especially) keeps me from getting cabin fever. Thank goodness I have great neighbors and co-workers to help out, so I'm not eating ALL this stuff myself!

You're an amazing baker, and I love to see your creations!
What recipe did you use for this beautiful coffee cake? How did it taste?

It tastes GREAT, though some of that may just have to do with the blueberries themselves. These were some of the sweetest ones I'd ever tasted--I wish I could remember what KIND they were, but sadly, I don't. :(

Recipe is a Betty Crocker one and can be found online here: http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/blu ... a338a6f23b

It calls for Bisquick, but decades ago, my mom taught me how to make my own because, well, "why would you PAY for that????" I usually just have a batch in the freezer and thaw it as needed. I used Meyer lemons instead of regular ones (since they looked and smelled SO good at the store) and I skipped the glaze and just made a simple shortbread dough to crumble on top. The recipe says to mix the berries in, but I just left them on top, because I thought it would look prettier.

Thanks! Your mother sounds just like my Polish mother and grandmother!
