I spent a couple of weekends in AC in the last few years, and have two places that I would definitely recommend:
Angelloni's II
2400 Arctic Ave
Atlantic City
As you enter, you have to walk through the bar, and this just appears to be a neighborhood pub. However, the dining room is quite nice, and it is truly fantastic old school Italian. The veal dishes are standouts, and we tried several appetizers such as the sausage which was great, and a terrific squash soup that day. Prices were reasonable (15-20 per entree), and service was great. Nice wine list too.
New Melaka Restaurant
28 S Tennessee Ave
Atlantic City
Hole in the wall Malaysian place that is obviously family owned and operated. We had a sizeable group and ordered a lot of items to mix and match. GAF may have some pictures of this. The mango chicken was a standout, and there were many very unique items that I had never seen before. Also very inexpensive. I would highly recommend. In addition to the Malay menu, they also had extensive Chinese offerings, and some Indonesian as well.
