In the next week Iliana Regan's new restaurant Elizabeth will open (it is now softly opening with friends and family dinners). Iliana was the force behind One Sister Underground restaurant, which received much positive notice on this board (http://lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f= ... One+Sister). I attended last night and was impressed (the first review on LTH was positive: http://lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f= ... er#p427269). (I myself have some photos, but I won't post until its real opening - incite was present last night and he is one of our star photographers, so if he posts, you win). Elizabeth is the first "New Nordic" or, more properly New Gatherers Cuisine restaurant in Chicago, with an emphasis on found or gathered ingredients (crab apples, huckleberries, Queen Anne's lace, wild rice, chanterelle, spruce shoots, black walnut). (Elizabeth is not Noma, but has something of the same inspiration).

I thought that it might be fun to gather a group of LTHers together to share a meal at Elizabeth. They have a table for eight that we can get. I am thinking of their shorter Owl menu - 8-10 courses, priced between 65-95 dollars (not including alcohol, tax, tip) and I am thinking of a Thursday night at 7 pm, tentatively October 18. Is there any interest in such a dinner. If so, I will make arrangements (I don't want to book a table until I know that there will be interest). The table seats eight.

And following our iconic Moto dinner (http://lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f= ... to+Raccoon) perhaps Cathy2 can bring along some roadkill (raccoon, not actually roadkill), and what could be more gathered than that.

If there is interest for a Thursday evening at Elizabeth, post or pm.

Sounds great, Gary. Thanks, for offering to put this together. I'll be heading over there later this month so I'm not going to take a spot at this dinner but it sounds like a really fun night and if I weren't already going, I'd jump in for sure.

GAF, I was on the fence until you mentioned the now near-mythical Moto dinner. All in -- meaning, The Wife and me. Two.

Elizabeth is one of the most fascinating places I've heard about in a long, long time. When I saw Gebert's video, I was sold: the way Iliana got teary when she talked about how much she wanted to encounter a tea party in the forest, a la Alice. Heart energy is there. Also, she seems out of her mind in the best way, the Joan of Arc way, totally committed, intuitive, visionary, sure of herself, a wild and wonderful spirit. I'll be a little jet-lagged (coming off two weeks of eating in India), but, you know, that looseness might make it better. Maybe I'll bring some treats from the subcontinent...and it'd be cool if C2 opts in with coon.

Ecstatic to have tickets for both the Owl and Deer menus in October, so I think I'm out for the LTH gathering, but am eagerly awaiting the posting of your photos!

We have our minyan (well, no, not really, but if a minyan was eight and not ten, we would).

    Now we start a waitlist.

    Fabulous!

I am not sure if Jen paid for this yet or not, but we can make the necessary arrangement.
