Edgewater will soon be home to a new BBQ and southern comfort restaurant known as Pearl’s, which is slated to open in 2014 at 5352 N Broadway....Owners Danny and Annie Beck are no strangers to the restaurant and culinary scene, as Danny once served as executive chef for House of Blues and Annie is an award winning pastry chef. Together, they own Sunflour Bakery and Danny has been owner/operator of Lakeview’s Toons Bar & Grill since 1998.

The Hot Pot price is actually good I think. Maki rolls are fair too, though the Nigiri is slightly more expensive than average.

Went today and yesterday. The food and service has been good. The inside is nice and trendy. My only complaint so far is that both the dim sum and sushi are too expensive. They need to bring that down. The portion sizes for what I've had were pretty good though and I was full after both meals.

I don't know how many pieces they give you in a dim sum order, but figure the rent has to be double (well, probably even more than double) the rent of a restaurant in Chinatown and the prices make sense given that fixed cost. There is a reason it's called the Gold Coast.

I didn't care for Vernon's and I was happy that something else was going into that spot. Happy until I saw the menu and the prices you attached! But if it's good, then I'll check it out. I do have a soft spot for the Little Red Hen down the street.Lerdawg wrote:Dewey's, a casual fast-food restaurant in Glencoe serving burgers, salads, pizza, hot dogs, fresh cut fries and Homer's ice cream, opened on Monday.

From the website, appears to be a Florida-based chain, on the order of a Smashburger or Tom and Eddie's. "Natural" burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, shakes.
