Its open -

I wonder whether the layout of Randhurst Village works against its tenants. They have a "main street" type layout (shops including eateries such as E+O) in the middle of the mall, surrounded by the big department stores (Carson's) and movie theaters. So lots of folks head to the big store or movies, park just outside them, and never see anything along the "main street" portion of the mall. And of course there's also no visibility for those shops from those driving by on the three principal thoroughfares going past the mall, either.

The address of 507 Chestnut has held a restaurant for many years. When the opportunity became available to purchase the restaurant I didn’t hesitate for even a day!
The process took a little longer than expected, but the end result has been more than rewarding. To be part of such a great community has been a great feeling and that will reflect in the efforts of our team as it moves forward in the next few weeks.
As most of you have read, I am Steven Leviton, the new owner. My background is as an executive chef, and food and beverage manager in known restaurants, clubs, and hotels that many of our customers have frequented, both here and in South Florida. I plan a gentle evolution of menus that our discerning customers have come to expect. I also plan to continue the in-house events, catering, cooking parties and team builders.
In order to have the restaurant move forward to the next generation, we will be closed on Sundays and then close from January 2nd-January 29th. Please stay tuned to the website and your email for our progress reports.
Our eventual name will be "Taste On Chestnut." You will see the new signs closer to the re-opening dates, subject to the village’s approval. The website will also migrate to the new site that we are building. You may also contact us at the same phone numbers as before and info@tasteonchestnut.com
We hope to see you December and again after we re-open! Happy Holiday’s to all!

Pearl Tavern owner Adolfo Garcia is planning to open a meat-focused restaurant inspired by his slaughterhouse-working, butcher-owning Mexican grandparents near Diversey and Sacramento avenues.
Teaming with chef Frank Valdez, most recently the chef de cuisine at West Town's Mexique, Garcia will open Son of a Butcher, a 70-seat eatery across from Fat Rice and a block away from Masa Azul, adding to the growing scene of chef-driven restaurants in the booming Northwest Side neighborhood.
EVANSTON— Lush Wine and Spirits announced its third location will arrive this spring in Evanston. A wine garden with a 200-year-old oak tree for drinking and snacking are part of the plan at 2022 W. Central St. in downtown Evanston. [EaterWire]

This was written by someone who obviously doesn't have a clue where downtown Evanston is, or how Evanston names its streets (there is no "West" Central Street). And based on the three existing Lush Wine locations already shown on their website, the writer apparently doesn't know how to count up to four, either.

Yes, announced already in October here. The Evanston Review does know where Central Street is.
A soul food restaurant with a slightly naughty name opened Monday in Forest Glen. Ald. John Arena (45th) welcomed Mother Cluckers Kitchen, 5200 N. Elston Ave., to Forest Glen at a friends-and-family-only opening Saturday, proclaiming the chicken and ribs superb.

Fresha Place (yes, spelling is correct) has a sign up with a notice it will be serving sandwiches, wraps, etc. Small spot on a busy street for food - and right next door to the newly opened Halsted Street Deli and across from Jersey Mike's.
Couldn't come up with any info on Google or social media?

I'll post in the next rendition of this (Jan-Mar) when it opens - probably with a review since it's in the back yard.

Not looking too "upscale" with an all-you-can-eat option.
