So at the last Dessert Exchange, it was revealed that another regular also enjoys having themed exchanges. Hooray! Theme-lovers unite!
I believe we discussed this numerous times but I don't recall that we actually did it. So the theme is
Childhood Favorites. I would love to hear the stories behind the desserts you bring. Is there something grandma always had on hand? Did mom bake you a special cake for your birthday? Or maybe you're still annoyed that Girl Scout cookies ain't quite the same and want to recreate them.
As usual, if you don't want to participate in the theme, as long as you bring some form of sugar you're welcome in my house.

I live in Irving Park. I can comfortably seat 7. After that, I'll start a waiting list.
I will make a light supper with some sort of vegetarian option, and beverages. Bring one dessert, no doubling required.
All levels of dessert experience are welcome, because often participants bring desserts made for the first time. We are the best audience for trying out something new. If it failed in your opinion, bring it anyway because we can learn from your experience and maybe it is not as bad as you think.
Bring containers to take your share home. It is a good idea to bring a couple, one for those needing refrigeration and one for those than don't. Or if you're like me (who hasn't changed since she was wee!) and want to keep everything in separate containers so they're not
touching.

I want to have a good body, but not as much as I want dessert. ~ Jason Love
There is no pie in
Nighthawks, which is why it's such a desolate image. ~ Happy Stomach
