I'm sorry for the delay in posting. It's been a busy couple of weeks since the event (and I've been traveling too) but first of all, I want to send out a big congratulations to all of this year's GNRs and a huge thank you to all the people who helped make the event so much fun. The meal was spectacular. Jen did a great job of putting it together and she had a ton of help from all our pick-up angels, who traveled to what seemed like all corners of the city and suburbs on the day of the event to get the goods. I also want to thank Onur and all the members of the GNR Committee for the huge amount of work they did behind the scenes. This event has a lot of moving parts and it would just not be possible without the effort of so many dedicated volunteers. And of course, thank you to everyone who attended.
We were honored to have so many of this year's GNR recipients in attendance -- 12 of the 18 were there to receive their awards in person. It was also great to have so many previous GNRs in attendance. Brad and Luke at Bar DeVille did a tremendous job keeping everyone hydrated and lubricated. Barry and Chuy from Smoque were so generous with their awesome BBQ brisket carving station. Having Carlos and Tasha from Calumet Fisheries, Milo and Chandra from Go 4 Food, Pramote from Rainbow Thai and the crew from Scofflaw (Mandy, Andy, Kris and Danny) all in attendance gave the night a very special feel.
There are many more pics to come but for now, below are shots of the GNR recipients receiving their awards. Unfortunately, the folks from Redhot Ranch were not feeling well and had to exit before the ceremony
