Holy heck, people, what an event! If bar food was like this all the time, uh...I'd be in big trouble. :P

Enjoyed myself immensely. Having not met most of you 'cept online, this was a great chance to connect the faces to the handles. You made me feel very welcome & I appreciate it. See you at more events from here on out.

    Ciao,

    Jay

Glad you enjoyed Jay--nice meeting you as well.

Huge thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make this a great event, to Ron and Matt for making it possible and to everyone who came out and enjoyed it. It was especially nice to see so many of our GNRs represented!!

    Until next year!!

Yes, it was a really good event - thank you!

I particularly want to call out the physical organization. It's a tight space, but the flow worked.

I'm sorry for the delay in posting. It's been a busy couple of weeks since the event (and I've been traveling too) but first of all, I want to send out a big congratulations to all of this year's GNRs and a huge thank you to all the people who helped make the event so much fun. The meal was spectacular. Jen did a great job of putting it together and she had a ton of help from all our pick-up angels, who traveled to what seemed like all corners of the city and suburbs on the day of the event to get the goods. I also want to thank Onur and all the members of the GNR Committee for the huge amount of work they did behind the scenes. This event has a lot of moving parts and it would just not be possible without the effort of so many dedicated volunteers. And of course, thank you to everyone who attended.

We were honored to have so many of this year's GNR recipients in attendance -- 12 of the 18 were there to receive their awards in person. It was also great to have so many previous GNRs in attendance. Brad and Luke at Bar DeVille did a tremendous job keeping everyone hydrated and lubricated. Barry and Chuy from Smoque were so generous with their awesome BBQ brisket carving station. Having Carlos and Tasha from Calumet Fisheries, Milo and Chandra from Go 4 Food, Pramote from Rainbow Thai and the crew from Scofflaw (Mandy, Andy, Kris and Danny) all in attendance gave the night a very special feel.

There are many more pics to come but for now, below are shots of the GNR recipients receiving their awards. Unfortunately, the folks from Redhot Ranch were not feeling well and had to exit before the ceremony (all names left to right unless otherwise noted) . . .

Again, some more pics from the event itself are forthcoming (and thanks also, to Jude Goergen for the great photographs) . . .

Though they couldn't attend the banquet, the folks from Wells Brothers were thrilled to receive their GNR Award, presented the other day by stevez . . .
