Soule, a BYOB restaurant offering soul food and seafood in a fine dining setting, is joining Chicago Avenue in Ukrainian Village.
Rick Tramonto, a James Beard Award-winning chef who left Streeterville restaurant Tru in 2010 to open Restaurant R'evolution in New Orleans with chef John Folse, is planning a homecoming. Tramonto and Folse have leased a large, two-level space in the OneEleven luxury apartment tower in the Loop, where they expect to open a second Restaurant R'evolution.

Ten months after a fire ripped through the more-than-century-old Old Town building that housed the restaurant, Adobo Grill re-opened last week in a new location. The Mexican restaurant has moved around the corner from its original site over to 215 W. North Ave.

I wouldn't claim it was great, but it might have been the best--by default! Meaning, full-menu, sit-down, diner-type places are dropping like flies everywhere, but especially in the Loop, where fewer and fewer people have time (sadly) for anything but carryout. What are the three actual diners that still exist in the Loop (bounded by the river on the north and west) that you would rate higher?

West Loop’s 25-Year-Old Vivo Closing After Selling To Bucktown's AMK
Another food hall and market is coming to the Loop. The yet-to-be-named 10,500-square-foot enterprise will be located street-level at 205 W. Wacker Drive. Jonathan Fox of 3Sixty Dining Intelligence is a partner in the venture. Fox owns Osteria La Madia and Firecakes Donuts and has developed restaurants for the Wit Hotel and Weber Grill, among others.
