It’s time for the 7th Annual Mardi Gras cajun-creole musicale and food exchange-feast/fest
Here are some mouth-watering pix to tempt you from last year’s party,
    viewtopic.php?p=508178#p508178
You should make or bring something Cajun, Creole or something to drink or snack on
Just post what you want to bring so we can keep it balanced.
My house is not gigantic, so it's a good idea to keep this shindig to around 35ish people.

Roadhouses for two. Food contribution TBA. Unless I come across some fabulous new recipe, it'll likely be something from my usual Cajun rotation: Collard Greens, Jambalaya, or Maque Choux. Might toss in some Jalapeno Cornbread if no one else signs up for it.

With ONJ4EVER claiming Maque Choux territory, and since we made Jambalaya last year, I'm leaning toward Collard Greens and Corn Bread. Unless our illustrious hostess has another request...

I'm thinking of making some mini-muffaletta-type sandwiches. For the moment, I'll commit my sister to bringing some beer. Her son used to work at a brewery in New Orleans, so I can imagine she can get some recommendations from him.

But then, I might do jambalaya instead. I just came across a good-looking chicken and sausage jambalaya recipe.

Katie- the muffaletta sammies sound fun and creative,
and we've never had anything like that...
we usually do get some jambalaya,
but whatever you want to bring is fine, so...
just let me know what you decide on.
It also sounds as though we are pretty close to being full up-
there are a few random people- musicians-
and Laura's friends who are always likely (and welcome) to show up too...

Ooooh. If you decide not to do muffalettas, I'll be glad to hop on that. Plus, it would give me a chance to give a tip of my hat to my distant Sicilian cousins.

Or, I'll make something else. You have first call, obv.

Based on their previous popularity, I was going to offer pimento cheese sandwiches if no one else did, but I am glad to see that justjoan will be bringing those.

I'm glad to learn mini muffulettas seem like a good idea; I'll go with that. My (other) sister recently brought a jar of olive salad back from a trip to New Orleans for me (I mean, she brought the jar for me, not that she made the trip for me :-) ), so I have the key ingredient.

But, Giovanna, I cannot imagine people would get tired of mini muffulettas, so please do bring some too if you'd like to, and we can compare notes on how we made them.
