Was with a group of 14 today for lunch at Jibek Jolu 5047 N Lincoln Ave location.
Our group dined on:
Chebureki - fried pie w/ground beef
Chicken Samsy (check out GWiv's photo on page 1)
Carrot Salad
Jibek Jolu Special salad - cucumber, onion, beef strips in soy sauce
Holodec aspic - veggies and ground beef held in aspic
Manty - dumplings both fried & steamed
Vareniki - dumplings stuffed w/feta
2 Kuurdak Lamb & 1 Kuurdak Chicken
The weak item for me personally was the Vareniki, I wanted the feta to have more pop in flavor. While I enjoyed the Kuurdak (Lamb especially) I'll order something different next time. The remainder was terrific. I'm guessing our group felt the same way as there was very little left over.
We also had 1 pitcher of Airan (Yogurt mixed with cold water) & 2 of Kompot (Kompot is a traditional clear juice obtained by cooking fruit, in a large volume of water, like rhubarb, apples, strawberries, sour cherries, gooseberries, peaches or apricots.)
Unfortunately I did not get to try any of the Kompot but LOVED drinking the Airan with my meal.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.
