It was another friendly get-together over good food today at Riobamba:

I was slow on the photos, so I apologize for not snapping them for the starters:
yuca fries with chimichurri aioli (click
here for more info about yuca)
maduros - sweet plantains with chihuahua cheese
tostones - crispy plantain with chimichurri aioli
I did manage to get photos of most of the entrees:
hornado - slow roasted pork with hominy, and pico
smokey shrimp - smoked paprika and coriander marinated shrimp with rice and veggies
seco de pollo - chicken braised with beer, peppers, onions on yellow rice

And a couple of the sides we ordered:
abue's tamale - corn masa stuffed with chicken sofritto
beet salad - beets, carrots, onion, lime vinaigrette

I also missed photos of the cheesy tamale and of the shrimp + chorizo entree, sorry.
When you're ordering an entrée and a side, you get any beverage for a dollar. Available beverages included bottled soft drinks both domestic and Mexican (Jarritos), and a soft drink dispensing machine with creative flavors. I liked my agave vanilla cream soda!
I liked this place. I thought the food was tasty overall, and the portions were extremely generous, representing a good value.
