    DSCN0085.JPG Outside view of restaurant

I came here with the LTH Evanston group January 7 and was impressed enough to bring the group I mostly lead last Sunday, May 19. I probably assumed there was an existing thread for the restaurant as the lunch groups seldom try something new without extreme recommendations, which I do not recall. If I took pictures, they'd be hard to find now, so I'll post those from last Sunday. I'll use two posts, since if there is a way to put more than 10 in a single post, I haven't figured out how.

Looks good. Was everything wonderful? What were the best dishes of those you had?

My favorites were the beef megalgal and all the lamb except the chops. I have no basis or experience from which to judge authenticity (well, I think the menu implied the soup was not Yemeni). I know there are people here that can argue the finer points of Naan for hours at end, my only ability to judge is to say "better than you get packaged at a grocery store", which I realize isn't much, though I think I've had naan that I liked better at Indian restaurants who bake it to order, but then maybe Yemeni naan is supposed to be different than Indian. Pork chops were not good for dividing, variable in size, etc. Note we ordered two of each dish shown for a group of 10 so we had plenty of food, though not even a full meal to take home if you don't count the naan and rice (much of which was left). Maybe I should have taken the naan and rice home, as leaving so much would be insulting to the restaurant? Advice sought for next time. If I took it home, I'd have used a little bit for thickener whenever I made soup for the next several weeks (I often make soup for lunch from whatever I have, leftover from cooking or leftover from doggie bags).

Aha, the restaurant's web page has been updated since Sunday when it said opening at 12:00. From asking in person, it opens at 12 noon normally, but not till 5 or 6 PM during Ramadan (they told me 5, their website now and google said 6 on Sunday, and the door was open at 4:50 when I arrived, but then some things like the milk tea weren't ready till 7 PM. Found my pictures from January, I think only two dishes repeated. I think I didn't post because I didn't know then (so not now either) what was ordered. If someone who knows or remembers tells me, I will update this post.

    DSCN0286.JPG beef madapaq ???
DSCN0287.JPG Fahsa Chicken ??? (I think Massloug lamb was eliminated as a repeat)
DSCN0288.JPG ??? one of the wraps
    DSCN0289.JPG shakshoka ???
    DSCN0290.JPG Agda shrimp ???
DSCN0291.JPG Kabsa Lamb (by elimination process)???

Sheba is moving in the middle of October to a new location on Foster. I visited today to get a small carry out order and there was a sign on the counter and front desk cashier said they are moving in the next 2 weeks.
