    Hi there,
I'm a long-time LTH lurker looking for some brunch recs. from Roscoe Village north to Evanston, east of the Edens would also be appreciated. Just for backround, I'm a big fan of the breakfast at Prairie Joe's on Central in Evanston, and I thought the now defunct Martyr's (on Lincoln) Sunday brunch was as good as any around. Thanks for your help.

    Welcome Q to LTHforum,

The brunch I have been very curious to try is at Turquoise. They open at 10 AM on Sunday mornings.

    Regards,

    Deleece Southport & Irving Park
Old time favorite. Breakfast pasta, Frittata, Chilaquiles, breakfast burrit, fench toast are all good. Wash it down with a Pomegranate-pineapple mimosa. Good prices, best value in town. They have been rennovating the place, check out the tasteful nude art on the wall.

Brett's in Roscoe Village on Roscoe just west of Damen is a great brunch option. It's slightly upscale compared to other places in the neighborhood. They'll start you off with their bread basket, which includes a great assortment of mixed baked goods, all of which are delicious and should tide you over until your order arrives (unless you're a low-carb person). I haven't been there for brunch in more than a year, but one of my favs is a non-traditional brunch item--the egg salad sandwich, which they do very well! I've had more traditional items, and they rock, too! Brett's also has a bar, so if you need a bloody mary or something harder, they can take care of you. Be warned, the wait can be long if you get there at peak hours.

In Evanston, I've always enjoyed Lucky Platter on Main between Chicago and Hinman. I haven't been there for a few years, so I don't have much to recommend, but I'd describe it as a gourmet/heathy soul food restaurant (sort of like Wishbone, but not really).

I'm a big fan of the "Bluegrass Brunch" at Horseshoe Bar & Grill - as previously mentioned here.
