To be even fairer, comparing views to replys doesn't paint a picture of "liveliness". Responses to a post, as Gary illustrated, should stand on their own.
To wit, if I posted right now in the Spacca Napoli thread, it would likely generate 100 or more views from people who have been following that thread. If the posts to that thread were even spaced out, you could keep multiplying that number. It makes sense that views exponentially outpaces posts.
