Regarding avocados: about a year ago the U.S. finally allowed avocados to be imported from Mexico. Since then, we have had a steady flow of the greatest avocados. All avocados here have a little label that shows the country of origin. I look for ones from Mexico. California ones are good too. Chilean ones are, with rare exception, awful.
The sandwich also contained 5 different kinds of cheese "of a certain age", salame napoli, salame cacciatore affumicato, sherry vinegar marinated red peppers, sweet onion slivers, olive oil, salt, pepper. You asked!
