I heard this this weekend--is it true? If so it would solve most of my Loop lunch issues. Supposedly it's going in the basement to replace the current cafeteria area.

"dreams are nothing more than wishes and a wish is just a dream you wish to come true"

    Harry Nilsson

I wonder if Springsteen's line from the song "The River" is influenced by the above Harry Nilsson lyric.

"Is a dream a dream if it don't come true, or is it something worse?"

Chicago Sun Times wrote:Federated will continue to allow Marshall Field's (and Macy's) to operate restaurants at the State Street store, but it will look for an outside partner to run a high-end, fresh food shop, similar to a Fox & Obel gourmet food store, in the State Street store's lower level. The store is aimed at residents moving into luxury condos in the Loop.

Perhaps that outside partner is indeed Fox & Obel. (This article is from April 28, 2006.)

Fox and Obel announced earlier this year that they were planning on opening another store in 2006, and then 5 more in the next four years:

Chicago's Fox and Obel Announces Expansion Plans

FEBRUARY 28, 2006 -- Chicago-based gourmet food store Fox and Obel announced last week that it will open its second store this year and intends to open five more in the next four years in the surrounding area, reports a recent Chicago Sun-Times article.

The store, known for chef-prepared meals, fresh-baked breads and exotic imported foods, struggled financially after it opened less than two weeks before Sept. 11, 2001. It launched a recapitalization campaign in 2002's third quarter, resulting in a $2.2 million infusion of cash and a large group of Chicago-based investor-owners.

So this is probably that new store. Good location.
